Camp Harmony - Analyze

6. Sone says the camp "was hopefully called Camp Harmony." Do you think the name is appropriate, or is ironic? Support your answer with evidence from the text.

- I think the name is ironic because to me, the word "harmony" in the name means peaceful, although the Camp wasn't peaceful.
"The partition wall separating the rooms was only seven feet high, with an opening of four feet at the top, so at night, Mrs. Funai next door could tell when Sumi was still sitting up," as said on pg. 519 in the literature book.
"Of one thing I was sure. The wire fence was real. I no longer had the right to walk out of it," also said in the literature book on page 520.

No privacy was given and they were kept in camp like prisoners. Therefore, I don't think the name "Camp Harmony" is appropriate as it doesn't attribute to the idea of anything peaceful unlike their old homes.
